ok, since i dont have a good diagram yet, maybe some of you guys could be of a lil help....... here's what i've got goin on..... 2002 x1w, recently (within 2 miles) came from a wash to clean leakin oil off which was leaking from oil pump gasket.... bike stops running less than a quarter mile after rail road tracks. its the 20 amp fuse. put another in, and turn key, immediatly pops that one.... start tracking it down, the wire from that fuse goes into the main harness and comes out and plugs into the right handle bar harness (more specificaly the kill switch) another wire (same circuit) comes out of the switch to the same connector, and back into the main harness....... then back to a relay... relay is good, handlebar not grounded... if i unplug either the relay, or the handlebar plug, it dosent blow the fuse.... any ideas?

Phat The mail should be on its way to you
sorry about the delay.

if the Kill switch is off does that not kill the fuse or makes no difference?

Ignition power path
from battery on the red wire, to the starter power stud. from that stud to 30A master circuit breaker MCB.

From the 30 amp MCB to key switch and "MEMORY" FUSE

From KEY RUN POSITION(ON) To lights, instruments, AND Ignition fuses.

From the 20A IGN fuse to the relay and kill switch, on the GY-O wire [ grey orange? ] to the switch Con 22 Pos 4 listed as Blue [BE]

From the switch on the bars as WR>WB Pos 3
WB goes to the relay (coil), the relay (87)feeds GY
which goes to the fuel and ignition systems

Double check the side stand switch and neutral switch as well.. relay ground

EDIT [GY conns to} >> ECM, injectors, speed sensor, bank angle, coil, and fuel pump

If you unplug the HBswitch the IG relay {R1) is off, If you remove R1 the circuit is open Try Kill SW off relay IN if fuse stays, unplug all of the conns to items above and re connect one at a time until fuse blows, I would start re connect with the ECM.

IHTH

if run switch is off, it does not blow fuse, if it is unpluged it does not blow fuse, if relay is unpluged it does not blow fuse.... which tells me that its after the relay...
