I'm pretty sure that somewhat neglected, somewhat modified, re-configured and WAY over-invested-in bike that is quietly awaiting in my garage is still, though maybe unrecognizably so, a BUELL!

Why does the BMC say my "VIN is invalid" when I try to log in to get all those wonderful owner benefits that are being offered to Buell owners?

I'm really trying to fit into this group of enthusiasts - I find Buell owners to be quite similar to the bunch of Indian riders (REAL up-to-1953 Indians - not those silly Gilroy thingies) that I used to be a part of. They too were widely diverse and dissimilar, joined by their mutual interest in the machines, rather than lifestyle. Maybe BMC, as part of the mothership, doesn't feel that any pre-HD/BMC machines need apply? Whassupwidat?

AL

PS HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL!
Let's EAT!

Al,

I hope us pre S2 owners get some light shed upon us.

Took the RS out yesterday for a good long ride. Now if I can only get the oil temp guage to work properly. Wait, maybe I should fix all the leaks first. Bad thing about a bike that sits for a couple years.

Al, my S3T left the garage at the end of the summer for it's new owner's home and I've moved on to an 07 Uly. Seeing the S in your profile brings back a lot of good memories. It certainly is a beauty.

Old mil,Al has pulled one over on you as his bike is NOT an S-2,he clothed his Buell RS in S-2 plastics.
But,no doubt it is a nice bike.

Thanks for the compliments on the bike, guys!
It started out as a white (& IMO- butt ugly) RS1200. My friend Skeeter Todd got a hold of it in the late 90's and made it into what you see now.
Now I just need to get BMC to own up to having some part of the original manufacture of the bike. When I shipped the bike from upstate NY and registered it in CA, they didn't mention any 'invalid ID #'! I just want that free Fuell mag! Too much to ask?

I've had Harleys continually, since 1971, and they never seem to be willing to send me "The Enthusiast" mag either! Maybe it was that wisecrack I made to Willy G regarding my 48 Indian & the MotorCo, back at the 2nd Love Ride that got me permanently on their black list?
Could it be me personally, or should I forego the paranoia and chalk it up to computer error?

Just kidding!

Speaking of that RS/S2T monstrosity in my garage - I am entertaining the idea of trading it for another HD such as a cop FLHT, FXR, FXDX, etc. Let me know if any of you hear of any possible interest in such a thing.

Wow, that's gorgeous. Is the turbo a custom job, or is there a kit out there for our bikes?

Sanchez -
The turbo is a kit that USED to be available from a company called 'First Choice'. It's a variable vane unit that was supplied in different sizes and configurations for H-D, Buell and other bikes. Mine was built for an S2 and had to get minor 'adjustments' to the header to fit the RS frame.
The company folded up a few years ago and the turbos and kits are pretty much unavailable now, though there are people aaround that can service the units.
Jim Higgins (Firemanjim) on this board has had a LOT of experience using these to their full benefit - he's forgot more about the turbo's than I've ever known!

I saw a while back that he got the turbo from you. ( I think it was in classifieds that I got the info)
A while back he wanted to know if I was willing to sell my turbo kit, which I will do - it's just that it's gonna be REAL pricey!
Comes with a free RS 1200, though!

Jim - Does BMC send YOU the FUELL mag? I've got a feeling your VINs are 'invalid', too!
