Just in case you don't go there much. It appears that while the 99 S3 I recently bought has an aftermarket can and CF air cleaner, it does not have the race ecm. yeah I know Al and Daves have them, but thought I would ask if anyone has a used/extra or unneeded one they would like to sell. The less I spend on that, the sooner I can do other things right?

If the 99 was carbed then the race module really does little more than raise your rev-limit.Tons of aftermarket modules available out there. I use the Dyna 2000 ones on my street and race bike as I like the single fire option.They plug right in and have 4 different curves and multiple choices for rev limit.My latest one on the racebike is programmable with the cable from Dyna,and has a retard function for my nitrous.I have seen them for good deals on e-Bay.

99 is fuel injected. pc2 or race ecm, not sure of other options.

I have an offer for the PC2. Advantages? Disadvantages?
I know the PC2 needs to be mapped, preferably on a dyno- are the results worth it compared to just "bolting on" a race ecm?

Is there a map available that will get me to the Dyno or am I going to need to truck it there?

the pc2 alters the incomming signals
the pc3 alters the outgoing signals
you can actualy remove fuel from the mix with the pc3

so you are saying that the pc2 can only richen the mixture? Presumably that is what you are going to want anyway but is that really the way to go?
I guess I'm looking for consensus whether I should go with the race ecm or pc2.
Should I be asking this in the knowledge vault to get a wider range of opinions?

I will recommend fully, the Race ECM, you put it in, reset the TPS, and away you go...

My buddy has teh PC2 on his X1...and its a pain in the a**...I will NOT consider running one after deal with his..

My 2 cents..

Thanks Chase. Is it a pain because he is trying to map it himself, because it is difficult and time consuming ($$) even for his dyno tuner or?

Well, first off, the nearest Dyno tuner to US is about an hour away,ona good day..

He charges 300+ to dyno tune...

And, we have been playing with different maps off the dyno-jet website..as he doesnt have anythign special done...

My thougts are this..

If you are gonna do mods, like headwork, cams, etc...dyno tuning and a PC are worthwhile..

If youa re gonna do basic stuff..pipe,. and intake mods(frocewinder etc), just go with the Race ECM...

My brother needs to go to his head guy this weekend to pick up some parts for his 9 second 82 Suzuki. The guy also dyno tunes and is supposed to have a lot of experience with Harleys and Buells. So I'm hoping this means that he can make short work of it. If it is going to be 3 bills, then I will pass.
My bike has a CF ham can and matching exhaust of unknown origin with a stock ecm (let me know if you recognize this exhaust)

If I keep this bike past a couple of years I am sure to get around to building another engine with more performance. I also drag race for fun, and keeping quicker than my brothers other bike, a Ducati M900 is of utmost importance!!!! If a PCII is what it takes, and I can afford it, then tuning the bike to MY intake and MY exhaust seems the best (quickest et!) way to go, right?
