I installed a Cycle Electric voltage regulator which should be a correct replacement for my 2000 M2, but when I swapped them out, I noticed a wire bolted to the back side of the stock regulator. It seemed to just go to the case of the regulator, and there wasn't a spot to bolt it on the new one. I figured that it was some type of ground, so I just bolted it to the bottom mounting bolt on the regulator. Is this correct?

That should be good.. like the Accell one i have i had to grind down so the bolt could tuck in behind the regulator, but works good now.
