Hello all,

I got the software from Technoresearch.com to go through my system.

After doing the TPS adjustment in the software, my TPS sensor only detects from 0 to 85. Is this a common issue with the software, or do I have a bad TPS?

Thanks in advance.
-Jason

Jason,
I saw exactly the same thing with my bike (01 X1 with race ecm)

I wonder if others see the same

Matt

one more thing, After trying to reset the TPS, bike wont idle at all now. I am in a non ridable condition and the soonest a dealer can take the 10 minutes to reset my tps is 6 days away.

arrggg!

another progress update.

Just bought a new TPS, Didnt bother installing it on the bike, I just plugged it in and spun it by hand. Before and after Running the TPS test the new sensor will only read 0-85 Throttle Position.

...........

ok.... So I dont like to read the manual that often. After getting frustrated I figured I would check the voltage ranges and test them.

Turns out the TPS only goes 0-85.

My problem is a super dry idle adjustment screw. So I am going to get some WD-40 now.

I think what confused me the most is, when I had the power comander hooked up, it showed throttle range 0-100.

'Viper:
How well does the software work (not counting the tps issue)
I am seriously considering making the outlay of green so I would like your inputs (please)
Which laptop are you using?(or are you using the palm?) Ryker77 was having problems to start with and ditched his efi ( may bite him in the future )

one thought are you also doing afv(reset)as well ?
If you are doin that you need to take the bike out and go for a 15 minute ride high power output steady state (70 75 mph says my buell tech) In Wilmington NC its I40 west

on your last post were you reading the ecm tp value or the pc tp value 1-100%,? the pc 3 can be set 0 to 100% if i remember,if connected the input to the PC- also changes the input values for the ecm with the pc being in the circuit as it is an additional load .

The HD guys had a heck of a hard time doing the TPS reset on my X1. When they finally cleaned and oiled the thiingamajigs it went like clockwork. I runs like a clock too. Oil those moving parts to get a stable TPS reading and reset! Den

ok, so everything went fine after I cleaned the idle adjustment.

I no longer have the power commander on my bike, but when I did the TPS would report 0-100 in the power commander software. I never knew what the buell ecm was reporting.

The Technoresearch software is great (Now that I figured it out). Its just a little deceptive on the TPS numbers and the range. The software could use a better manual and they should have an online forum local to there website for troubleshooting.

Overall the bike is running great, I will get some freeway time with it today to fully adjust the computer.

glad to hear its better!

I sprung for the software and a few tools last night. Thanks for the input!

Oh, since there are 8k or better efi Buells
why not have the "forum" here

posting in the KV under a specific heading with pc3 issues, efi issues, and pc interface issues.

there are some sharp minds here(like yours)
that could really help out

Lube the throttle cables for sure, but also lube the idle adjustment screw. The heat from the engine just dries it out and makes it not want to screw in at all.

Matt:
the fsm states 0 - 85% i bet any thing above the
85% is considered a short and creates a fault.
