Model Year change-over at Buell was typically around the 4th of July timeframe. It is very likely that 1996 MY (Model Year) S2 Thunderbolts were sold in CY (Calendar Year) 1995.

BTW - Tramp, I love your bike! It's got ATTITUDE!

Court,

That was easy! At least you were not asked about the published/unpublished differences of the 03/94, 1995 S2’s (such as my 1B9RT------034) as they compare to the 03/95, 1995 S2’s.

>>>so those 86 March 95 cal. s2s you mention are the ones you previously said never existed. ok

You are bordering on argumentative.

Let me see if this helps.

We screwed up and Buell sales commenced in California one year behind the other 49 states.

We're getting hung up here on "model year", "build year" and the date actually sold at a Buell dealers.

You see know why I am hesitant to answer questions publically and subject myself to classroom silliness.

Not mad, just being reminded of a lesson learned several years ago.

I hope the infomation was of some help....there's plenty more where that came from. Don't even ask me how I was riding a 1997 Buell with a clock (there were 4 designs being considered) in the dash, in 1995.

: )

Hasta la Buell for now...

court, buddy! - what do you mean i'm "bordering on being argumentative"?
in the 16th post on this thread, you clearly state:

" Court
Posted on Saturday, November 06, 2004 - 07:21 pm:
CA VIN's will have a different letter in them and there were no 1995 S-2's in CA. "

so...you state very authoriatively that these 86 buell S2 Ca. versions never existed, (NO mention of manuf. or model year at all) and when it's clearly proven that they did, you tell me i'm being argumentative? in the same thread you also state that cal. vins have a different letter in them. again, that's incorrect as well. it was a numeral change for the cal. bikes, not a letter change.
hey- when i'm wrong, i admit it. i don't tell the other guy he's bordering on being argumentative (??!!!???!!!) when he checks my mistakes for me.
dude- you were wrong. no biggie. it happens. believe it or not, you are only human. welcome.

damn that colombus for being "argumentative" when he disagreed with the theory that the earth was flat

Tramp,
I'm thinking it's time for you to meet up with Court at one of those mystical coffee shops he speaks of in the city and have him check out your bike. I believe a story could come forth from the encounter. If the meeting place also happens to serve Mexican food, and if Court brings along a digital camera, the meeting between you, he, and your bike could easily become one of historically significant proportions. And if it also entailed a visit to OCC, well, I'll simply say no more and wait to see what happens.

daily
hell- hourly i think.
yep- i just used laquer primer over some enamel a half-hour ago 'cause i wasn't paying attention.
i also admit that
and bluzm2, i don't doubt it one bit, but i like court to inform me who, exactly, it was that penned the first draft of the signature series letter. you know- that eric buell signed his own name to.
i didn't bring it up- it's on court

the preceding photo ( Big Ups to Josh ) is of my (allegedly) '95 S2T, which was titled in Ca. as an rr1200.
obviously i refitted marchesinis (w/single disc)and an s3t frontend, along with an s1 saddle, and i pawned off all the gay bodywork, as i use the machine offroad on logging trails and occasionally on tt-esque dirt track, as well as all over the backroads of NY and California, and occasionally the expanse in between. the isolators are clearly s2 as opposed to rs. weird, right? thanks for the info, guys, esp. court- yours is the most logical and comprehensive explanation i've gotten re: cal. model year and the "rs" title.
