2001 S3T that doesn’t have a working low fuel warning system. The light is OK in the dash and have the sender unit out on the bench. Has anyone ever repaired the unit? Is it possible?...or just replace it. Is it possible that it is dirty or?? |

You cant fix it. The part# is P0789.KA there is a new part # the XB and 1125 use the same sensor. Check Saint Paul. This is the fix. (Message edited by victory on April 02, 2021) |

Out in the garage I have discovered the electrical connections are a bit loose and dirty. Cleaned and tightened and it’s now working. It looks like the low fuel light comes on with the kill switch turned to run and after 30 seconds it starts to glow dim then gets to about 25% of brightness compared to the other bulbs. Fixed for now. |

The bulb is a specific wattage to work with the sensor. If the lamps is replaced with the wrong wattage it may glow or fail to operate. IMO it is a brilliant idea and works ok... |

Good to know about the wattage as I have switched the bulbs around to check if the bulb was burnt out. Now I got to get my glasses on and check the wattage. |

IIRC, Sifo reworked the ohms of the assembly to get the light to work again. Maybe try the Google search engine at the top of this page for "low fuel light not working" |

Old dog, FYI, the wattage and amperage are identical for all the bulbs that fit in the instruments. There are brighter and bulbs that fit into the oval panel containing the neutral and signal light indicators. I might just break the rules and stick one of those bulbs into the LFS socket to brighten the light up a bit. (Message edited by 96s2t on April 09, 2021) |
