Gustaffson made the original factory screens for RS/RSS/S2. When they say "stock height"...they're about as original as you can get! I have the stock height that my '95 came with, and a +4 that I use in winter to help create a bit more of a rider "bubble". Identical quality and materials and a great fit. |

Gustaffson made the original factory screens for ... S2. For the early S2's, yes. Later S2's H-D forced Buell to switch to a different material, which took the business to (if I recall correctly...) National Cycle. |

Gotcha. I think both of mine are stamped with the G logo...have to check the shorty though to be sure. Could always have been replaced at some point before I got the bike... |

If I recall . . . there was a problem with the material splintering or the way in which it fractured. B? |

On a document that was shared with me re: some running production changes on S2's: "Windshield change. The original windshield was acrylic manufactured by Gustaffson and was embossed with his logo. The second was not marked and was very wavy (Lexan) in appearance. I believe this took effect with the 1996 model year." Yes, later Buell's did go back to Gustaffson screens. I think the screen on my 1998 S3T Defender is also a Gustaffson screen. Apparently either Gustaffson decided to concede and use Lexan, or the background for H-D's requirement diminished. |

So if I get a Gustaffson screen for my Defender will it be original enough for you, Brankin?
