Saw it on the facebook group! great looking bike! I'm thoroughly jealous of the paint.

Have you gotten a chance to take it for a few good rides yet?

@Dave Yes, just outside of Wausau Wi $3,500
When I got there (I live in Geneva Il) after 4 1/2 hour car ride. I asked if this was considered the UP (upper peninsula) He laughed and said no. I told him it sure felt like it..

@Upthemaiden I took it for a short test ride when I bought it. Runs well but has definitely been sitting for a little bit. So will have to sort out some issues front brake rotor needs new hardware (anyone know a domestic source? Can you still get from Harley?) and a couple other small things. Definitely going to get rid of the crossroads bars will go with stock or maybe something a little taller.

I drove about 4 hours to pick mine up too. A little rougher than I thought it was going to be once I got it home and really got to look at it, but it was raining and gross when I met the guy and took my test ride, and honestly, unless it had a serious issue, I wasn't going to drive 4 hours and just not buy it. I found a whole list of things that needed sorted out, so if all you need are some rotor bolts and a few small things, you got off pretty easy.

Of course you'll eventually find other general upgrades you'll want to do, like the bronze oil pump gear, the updated primary tensioner, getting rid of the clutch spring plate. Things you didn't even know were issues before you decided to buy an S1. I've already got a whole pile of parts I need to replace on mine, but it's too much fun to stop riding so anything that's not mandatory is on hold till fall.

I don't remember what they look like at the moment, but I assume the holes in the rotors are tapered and the surface of the bolts is flat? You might be able to find something at Mcmaster assuming you know what grade you need, and check the angle of the taper. I wouldn't be surprised if Harley used the same bolts on some of their bikes though. I'm sure someone who knows more about that one will come along.

Make sure you get us some more(BIGGER) pictures when you get some time!

I would look for the newer 9 pin brake rotor or an aftermarket, I just recently removed the Crossroads bars from mine and installed the factory bars, haven't ridden it yet, it definitely feels different though.

When you mention front brake rotor hardware are you talking about the rotor being really loose on the carrier? If so, you need a new rotor.

It was very typical of the six pin rotors to beat the carrier up and they get really loose and "jangly" (very technical term). The only reasonable fix is to replace the disc. Either the later nine pin or EBC stand out.

By the way, super nice bike at a great price - I'm jealous.

Very nice!
I flew 1,800 mile to the tropical part of Australia to buy a 03 1200XL then road it home, went through rain went through wind , heat & cold. But loved the ride. Not one thing needed tightening or gave me trouble. Just had to tie all my gear down was a lady owner from new.
Still got my M2. Was interesting riding the rigid mount motor, surprised me how well it handled, and how smooth it was for a ridgid mount i have owned old Harley big twins n both ridgid & rubber mount normally ridgid your always turning a wench on a long run.
The heavy flywheels nice on the street!
Whats the plan with this S1?

You can fix disc rattle with new wave washers. Email Lance.
