Hey guys, I am going to be building another fiberglass seat cowl for my X1 and i want to paint it to match my tank. In the past i have gotten it "close enough" with airbrushes and aerosols. But this time i would really like to nail it. I believe the color is called blue streak metallic, please correct me if i am wrong. I cannot find the original color anywhere in a aerosol. But i have stumbled across something. Toyota also has a paint color called Blue Streak Metallic and it looks pretty darn close.
What are your thoughts on this? Is there anyone with a toyota of this color that can chime in possibly? Also if there is a place that i can find the original paint then please let me know. thank you.

I have the code for Blue Streak from 97-98 and the they called it the same color in 2000.

I found another paint code for the Blue Streak and Demon Blue. posted in 2001. All PPG paint.

Blue Streak
DBC-190388

Demon Blue
DBC-191308

All used:
Clear DCU-2042
Hardener DCX-9
Reducer DT-870, DT-885, DT-895

Four part clear to one part hardener to 1 1/2 parts reducer. Spray 1 drop coat over whole part then apply 2 wet coats over entire part.

Not from Buell or HD. Some paint shops can mix the color and put in a aerosol can for you.

most automotive paint shops these days can mix to any paint code and then put it in an aerosol can. Thats usually what i do every time i repaint my bike. No need to dirty my HVLP gun. I then follow up over the base with 2 part urethane.
