thought i would post a link. a Guy here in Australia built this bike & uses Harley frame, he cast the cases from Magnesium made it to take a kawasaki 750 super bike gear box, it races unlimited Classic, uses Panhead Heads he modified, ( as pan heads are alloy not cast iron so light ) he made the master for the cams & designed the cam profile himself had an Australian cam manufacturer make using his master & new billet . has two carbs think early british carbs. the Rider is a young road racer, really good. watch the video. i think this bike gets up to 170mph it is Pillip Island raceway in state of Victoria. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6BGpdneSC2Q |

It is even more if it is rotating mass. Learned an incredible amount of knowledge building racing pedal bikes. When your engine is your legs every once matters. Everything on my sons bike cranks gears forks all custom made all either titanium or carbon. One of his bikes weighed in under 6 pounds! (Message edited by S1owner on February 03, 2016) |

Buellistic Thanks, i knew Power to weight, but did not know the ratio, i think the motor is about 80 cubic inch sportster it has a very strong Torque curve too, that starts at reasonably low rev's. it went to the salt with the owner builder riding but he is getting on in years not sure if he is taking it to salt this year too but that is on end of this month. last time it went 200mph and still same set up as on the race track not changed for the salt. the salt is hard to ride on with light bike & strong Torque. |

S1owner, i love pedal bikes too!! Weight of wheels play a big part too as a light wheel will excellerate faster than a heavy wheel. |
