Hello,

I've been offered a 2002 X1 at a reasonable price, i'd like to know what to look out for on the bike, i do have a cable with a palm so i can check error codes and engine functions.

I would do a compression check. Then check for updated primary chain tensioner, update the front motor mount. Make sure all the gears shift well.

The updated primary chain tensioner should be a stock item.
2002 was the last and best sorted year for the tubers, I'd just check to make sure it hasn't been beat to hell by previous owners and/or bonehead mechanics.
It should be a very smooth running motorcycle once it's above 3000 RPM and it should accelerate like mad. NO smoke, no leaks, no weird rattles, pulsing brakes or funny handling issues.
P.S.
The seat was designed by a eunuch.

Trķed out the bike, forgot how good it was, perfect engine speed handling, grin factor 100%.
Just a couple of little changes, and reader to ride.

Hey Pontlee, good to see you around again. Have fun on that new X1, if you get it that is. What kind of paint are you going to go for? Still love that Gulf/GT40 look on your old bike.

For the moment it's going to stay yellow, and also the sub frame was painted in yellow too, i didn't expect to like that colour, but in good light it look fantastic, and Every one says before they see it, that i should change the colour.
