I tried searching for a bit, and looks like either I am searching improperly or there is no information out there. I would like to replace my shifter on my 1998 M2 but I do not have the funds to spend to buy the Banke SKA-23 like I would like. I wanted to see if anyone has the actual dimensions for the Banke or Buell (49074-01Y), so I might be able to mill one myself. Thank you for the help!

How do you plan to broach the shifter arm?

If you can find a bent shifter shaft, you can press it through a hole to make the splines.

I'll admit I haven't tested it, but was hoping it was the same as the sportster of a similar year. My dad has an original off of his '97 sportster that I was hoping would fit, but haven't checked yet.

i made my own "bankes" style shifter for my bike. For the shifter pivot i just purchased one for $25 from www.preeng.com for an XB.. or buy a used one from and XB.

I have had my stock 96S1 shifter wear out the bushing 2x in 105,000 miles. I have the banke frame brace and have seen the banke shifter.

@ Purpony your design is the first one that has tempted me to step up! what type of black coating is that on your bike? Looks great!
