Will the S3 airbox cover fit an S1 airbox? TIA

PS: Wrong title, some browser extension I have autofilled the title after I wrote one about the S3 airbox with the last title I used. Lame...

The 1996 S1 had a unique airbox on it.

'97-'02 carbed airboxes are the same from model to model.

A '97-'02 S3 airbox cover should fit a '97-'98 S1 without issue - as long as it is not an S3T airbox cover (with the mounting holes for the right fairing lower). Even if it does have the right fairing lower holes, it will fit, but it will allow unfiltered air in - which is obviously not a good thing.
