So I've been toying around with the idea of putting some 1125R mirrors on my S3T. I bought a set a while back but they didn't fit out of the box. The mirrors needed to be taken apart so that the glass pointed in the right direction. I had some time tonight to monkey around with one to see what it would look like on the bike. After seeing it, I'm not as excited about this mod as I thought I would be even though I think it looks better. I still need to put the glass in the 1125R mirror to see if this setup is better than the stock mirrors.

Stock S2 mirrors are not as fuzzy as the stock 1125 mirrors

Personally I think XBR mirrors would look better. I de-arched a pair and put them on my S2, now my mirrors stay put : ).

Ross, what does an XBR mirror look like, and how do you de-arch one? I tried XB long stem mirrors on my S3 and didn't like the angle at all.

To me the shape of the 1125R mirrors don't fit the S3.

I hope somebody can come up with a good solution.I'm not happy with the stock mirrors by a long shot.

No offense, but that does not look good.
They stick out way to far....

As long as you don't do any lane splitting you are good to go! The 1125 turn signals on my CR light up reflective road signs 500 yards down the road! my 96s1 turn signals like your s3's do almost nothing. I like it!

I'm with Scott; the originals look much better.

I put Rizoma LED signals on my S3 and promise you they are brighter than the ones in the 1125 mirrors.
You get what you pay for!
I'd like new mirrors too, but the need to fit the styling of the bike.

Buellish, I cut a "V" shaped portion out of the stems and then fused them back together by drilling holes for a dowel pin made out of a headless bolt, then used 3500 PSI epoxy to hold it together. Taped it all in place with aluminum tape until the epoxy dried. Not the best way to do it but it got the job done. Of course I pulled them apart first to get the boots off. If I did it again, I'd pay a lot more attention to the heat, as the ball in the left mirror warped, so I ended up disassembling it and gluing it into the right position, which was a pain.

Damn Ross,is your middle name Custom?Custom bars, aftermarket levers,m/c,late control pods, custom dash and gauge layout.Pretty trick!

That sounds like a lot of work on the mirrors.I may reexamine putting the Yamaha snowmobile mirrors off my S2T on the S3T.

Custom paint too : p. Actually it had the customized WesTek clip ons and S1 handlebar controls when I got it. I switched to a Brembo radial MC and reservoir both from a Ducati 999, and ZX6R clutch perch, and ASV levers. I plan to switch out the switchgear with 999 switches and throttle as well at some point, because I don't like the boxy look of the S1 left switches. The dash I custom built out of an old Carbon Fiber HamCam that was hanging on my wall for years, and Sunpro gauges.

An external shot. You can also see I polished the stock PM caliper when I rebuilt it.

Nice color! You color matched the mirrors too.A buddy of mine is trying to talk me into going with a GSXR master on my S3.He put one on his S1 and is sining its praises.Of course he only used the GSXR part because he had it in his parts pile.

Yeah a radial Master cylinder really is the way to go IMO. All the new sport bikes pretty much use them exclusively, and almost all the factory pieces are Nissin or Brembo, though there are some nice units from other MFGs as well, like the Accosato unit on the 1190RS ($$$) and the ISR units on the Ronins. I got my Brembo unit with the reservoir, billet cap, and ASV lever on eBay for $105, and I got the the ZX6R clutch perch and ZX6R ASV lever on eBay as well for $17 and $55.
