My tach and speedo have crap inside the lenses.
Has anyone here taken apart the tach and speedo? Are they glued?

I don't want to break anything and it's been together for a long time. I'm not sure if it's just a sticky O-ring.

I've not had one apart, but if it is just condensation, or a thin layer of pre-condensation (is there such a thing?) . . .

Take the instruments out, remove the bulbs from the back, and place them face down in a warm area for a while. Might even consider in the sun. That might allow any moisture, if that is the issue, to evaporate.

It's a greyish fog. It's not water though perhaps it was put there by condensation in the first place.
I'm just scared that I will apply too much force only to find it was glued together.

Greyish fog. Hmm, perhaps it is pre-condensation. (Maybe I should copyright that . . .) Anyway, a really fine layer of moisture might appear grey. Putting one of the instruments on the windowsill might be worth trying. Don't think it can hurt. And I'm not aware of anyone else having a similar problem.

I did the inside of my Uly housing (which is accessible through the hole the lamp occupies) but cutting a really good (Griot's blue) microfiber cloth into small squares . .stuffing them in and using something akin to a giant Q-Tip to clean the inside of the lens and the reflector.

Nate careful with the instruments the instructions caution the user to leave 1 screw connected as the wires are removed to keep the internal parts lined up with the terminal screw bosses

Like you I suspect that the housings are glued together, and the meters are not user serviceable like the indicator light stack.

The head lights (stock x1) can be opened and the inside glass and reflector cleaned
by removing the wire clips and reattaching them when finished, the housing parts under the metal ring which is released when the clips come off.
