Two weeks ago I'm out on the S3,had oil blowing all over the rear of the bike. All over everywhere. I think, darn must be the crank seal. I replaced the crank seal, even made my own Jim's tool and have buddy machine the spacer(think i got the specs for the spacer here. The repair went well. Put it all back together. Ride around the block. Parked it to get a helmet for a highway ride. Come back to a small puddle of oil under the shock. I look under the bike and it appears to be leaking above the oil pump? Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Is your oil tank pressurising? Tubers were known to blow oil out of the filler cap when too much pressure was present.

There could be several reasons, or more than one, contributing to the problem you appear to have.

The first thing I would do is confirm with absolute certainty where the oil is coming from.

I would be looking at oil pressure if the oil tank shows signs of pressure. I'd be checking the engine is breathing, and breathing as it should.

If you have excess crankcase pressure you need to know what the cause is before you try to prevent an oil leak it's causing.

No prob. Just don't go raking the seat skywards in an effort to avoid the oil cap flying off and smacking you in the arse ; )

Yes they did that, honestly.

I'm not a fan of the S3's but that color looks sweet on there.

Thanks Jordan s3t, I use to keep it inside the house before I was married. My wife often accuses me of loving my Buell more than her!

If you cut down your cam cover, you can re-route those oil lines out from underneath.

Good news. I'm not a fan of the S3 styling, but I do see what attracts its fans to it. That is a lovely looking example. And clean considering it's been blatted with oil apparently : )

Thank you Rocket,
I have a 95 S2 that I ride on solo runs, but as I get older, the S3 is more comfortable, especially when I bring the wife. BTW, I visit Liverpool once every two years with two of my sons. We're big Everton FC fans. We like their goalie quite a bit. We're headed back next year, love to meet you when we're in the neighborhood. (ur about 100km out of Liverpool?)

I'm about 120 miles from Liverpool and have a great friend there who I should visit more often!

If you look at the M62 motorway running across England. Liverpool is the west end. Hull is the east end. I'm at the east end.

Let's do it, but I'm not a footie fan really : )
