From what I've learned reading this forum, the standard S1 (made in 96-97) has about 90hp and the S1W that became available in 1998 put out abut 101hp. From what I gather, the thunderstorm heads, cams and pistons are what's required to upgrade. Is that right?

Also, I think the manta tank was also added in '98, but other than that I'm not aware of any other differences in suspension etc. Can anyone clarify what the refinements and upgrades were for 96 S1 vs 98 S1W's? Thnx..

i thought the cams were the same. heads, pistons, 2 1/2" exhaust header outlet, tank.
