Some of you may remember from a different thread that I hate my exhaust, so I've been looking for something different. What is popular among badweb'ers? The only factory race setups I've come across are stupid expensive (in my opinion). I have a D&D can here, but I would still need to buy a header and the 90* piece. What do the experts recommend?

Stock.

It's a twin. Its strength is mid-range torque and broad power delivery. It does that with the stock exhaust.

Any Japanese literbike made in the past 20 years will hand you your ass in a straight line, no matter what you do to it. Why bother with all the noise and other problems of the aftermarket systems?

What are you currently using?
Any carbon fiber canister will fall apart, the Buell Race exhaust is probably the best, the D&D is just way too loud for my tastes...
I'm currently using a Vance and Hines aluminum one which needs repacking, a stainless WileyCo and a titanium Wileyco.
I'm pretty sure that they WileyCo's actually decrease power compared to stock but they're light, well made and sound good.
I'll probably end up with another Buell Race exhaust on my X1 when all's said and done.
Kevin Drummer supposedly does a tube frame conversion if you ask him nicely.

Any Japanese 600cc sportbike made in the past 20 years will hand you your ass in a straight line.

I "fixed it" for you.

I thought about that before I posted. The 600s from the early '90s might not keep up in a straight line.

Current setup is wide open, it's how I bought the bike. D&D is loud? Nah...

Greg, if I had a stock setup, I would gladly run it. But I am partial to at least a little bit of rumble. Coincidentally, I think I bought that D&D from you a few years back.

If you can find a Staintune, or Borla full system, they sound great.

Supertrapp internal disk muffler is tuneable, stainless, and can be a very solid muffler. Has a nice deep sound too.

You won't need a separate 90 piece for the 99+ model years stock header, except with certain aftermarket mufflers.

The one I sold was a Vance & Hines. Man that thing sucked.

I like the sound from my V&H but it needs new welds every couple years, rebuilding yearly, repacking Semi annually and new screws/rivets after every ride. But other than that it's great.

Tll... keep me posted on that. Seriously.

Vance and Hines on my S1, looks OK, a little loud but needs a repack, I am sure.

My X1 has the Supertrap that looks better, is not too loud, but does not sound quite as good (quality) as the S1.
