I originally posed this question to Court via a PM, but decided to see what input you guys can give me as well.

I have a 96 S2-T I acquired recently and intend to perform a nuts and bolts restore. I can see already the paint codes are going to be tough. It is Parkway Blue on a gray frame. I know Tiger Drylac made the powder for frames in 1998 and up, but what about 1996?

Also, I understand Sikkens made the original paint for the bodywork through 1996, but may not be available any longer for a variety of reasons (possibly our friends at the EPA).

Do any of you know what the paint code was/is for the gray powder? And if there is direct or viable replacement for the Parkway Blue?

BTW: Anybody have a stock S2 shock? ; )

Thanks in advance!

Anyone have any information on the Gray powder coat used on the 1996 Buell S2T frames.

Court, where are you, I need to pick your brain!

Kc,

I put a spare bent & powder coated side stand on the "T" yesterday. Your welcome to borrow the stock unit for a color match….

K12,

Thanks, I may take you up on that. Still trying to track down the original RAL number, but I will let you know.

Do you have any more info on the bent kickstand mod?

Digging that "T" of yours!

Vin

I think it was on Don Castro's site.

It's Bend down & foreword to keep the bike from leaning over so much on the stand, just add acetylene & pressure : )

Vince,
Your choice but I would let it as is (it looks so cool to me), I just put the bike in 1st gear, roll forward until it stops and let it leaned over.
Bending down the kickstand makes the bike more upright, which may result in bike being tipped over to the right when gusty wind blows the left of the bike.
Bending forward may raise safety problem: If you make left turn while moving with the kickstand not retracted somehow, then the kickstand may act as lever and disturb your bike seriously. In this situation the unmodified straight stand will retract to the rear more easily minimizing any disturbance to the bike. I believe this is why it was designed this way.
