This has me puzzled.
Just changed the oil in my '00 X1 for the first time.
(no its not the bikes first oil change, just that the bike is new to me:-)

And I fished these out of the oil tank

Its clear silicone chunks, but the pcs like like they had a specific shape at one time. My first thought was it just oozed out from a seam, but after seeing the shapes, im wondering if it was some sort of seal that maybe got chopped upo as it passed thru the oil pump? I cant imagine any pcs being made from clear silicone but I wanted to check w/ you guys to see if it looked familiar.

thanks, jeff

Yeah, could be the squeeze out from a RTV seal that the previous owner installed, I would think the filter would catch something that big, maybe it was downstream of the filter.

yeah, I cut the filter open, but there was nothing in there, Im guessing the pcs were probably there for a while and the filter has been changed out since then.
