I have found a BuB dual exhaust for a non FI bike. I am going to install it on a FI S3 what do you all think about this system? will it work well with what I am wanting to do.

Don't do it. Your FI system needs the O2 sensor. If you REALLY want the bub system you can have an O2 bung welded on at the rear bend.

The factory pipe is a lot better than the bub system, even if it doesn't sound as cool. Find a slip-on to mate up with the stock header if you are looking for more noise, or a Force or race system if you are looking for more power. The V&H doesn't do much for the 99+ model years, so skip that too if you are looking for more power, if it's just exhaust note you are looking for there are lots of options.

just my $.02 FWIW

Thanks for the input. I need a new header the one I have has so far cracked at the collector and recently the O2 bung broke completely off. So should I look at a D&d full system?

I have had both. The Bubs look cool and sound cool but they hurt you on power. They also tend to rust. I now have a D&D slip on and will not have anything else.It is bulletproof, solid steel and sounds awesome (some say too loud but I love the tone)

Just a quick search of the ebay shows this one up ending soonest.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2000-Buell-s3-thunderbolt- exhaust-header-/300854706440?hash=item460c568108&i tem=300854706440&pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories& vxp=mtr

If your header is cracking you want to install everything loose, then gradually tighten up one fastener at a time, starting at one end or the other and give everything a wiggle, a couple times through the process to make sure your system isn't tweaked or putting undue load on headbolts, header, or front hanger as these parts tend to break with they are loaded up and left that way.

Buellistic has a instruction doc he's put together on it. When you get your exhaust replaced make sure it's installed right or you'll be replacing parts again.

This one will also work, just have a muffler shop add the bung for you.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1999-2002-BUELL-M2-CYCLONE -EXHAUST-HEADER-PIPES-VANCE-HINES-MUFFLER-/2810585 43130?hash=item417065061a&item=281058543130&pt=Mot orcycles_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr

$80 right now, may bid up from there, he's got the exhaust outlet on backwards, you don't want it blowing on your shock, they go bad quick enough without adding heat stress and carbon caking to the mix.

Use a S3/X1 exhaust manifold (1999-2002) if you don't want to mess with visiting a welder. Otherwise an M2 header from the same model years will work too, just gotta add the bung.

Mufflers specified for any of those bikes and model years are interchangeable.

Ok guys I got a header off of a m2 yesterday for 75.00, I am going to have to add a o2 bung are they standard? Now I need a muffler. I was thinking of just buying a stock one due to the price I see for new ones. What are your alls thoughts on this? Is it a waste of money or will it give me some of grunt finally?
