Locking mailbox hardware can work. Look for quality items, the cheap ones are junk. There are also some cabinet type locks that can work.

I went to local locksmith and he set me up with one keyed to my key and even better, you could remove key in either position so you did not have to leave key in lock while it was unlocked.

They must have just obsoleted them...when I worked at the dealer, I ordered new saddlebag locks (four) for my bike because I was tired of having two keys (my bags were accessories). I got a set of locks keyed to match my bike, brand new from HD.

A barrel lock is a barrel lock; the latch is removable as long as you still have it. Just swap the barrel with a new one. Take your key off the keyring and pull the plastic cover off it, you'll see your four-digit key code. Order locks to match the code.

Joe...
FYI:I do believe even in 1996 S2T, ya got diff keys for the bags than the ign...I got al the orig keys with my S2T, and it consisted of 8 keys, 2 of each..Fork, Tank,ign,bags...I once had a new key set that consisted of an Ignition switch and seat key ,seat lock..No bag keys included...

Onahog, not true. My 1996 S2T is one key for ignition, seat, all four saddlebag locks.

Rat,I was just wondering if the locksmith was able to cut a barrel key for Jim or whether he had changed his ignition switch to a flat key and had the seat lock keyed to match.
