How have you guys fixed loose (stripped) threads in the lens screws?

Quick fix is tooth pick in screw boss.

Longer term is fill the screw boss with epoxy putty and drill new hole.

I drilled all the way through the tail section, through the screw hole. Got some LONG screws at Home Depot, 2 washers, and 2 nylock nuts. Its hard to explain...but if you stick your head against my rear tire and look up, you can see the washers and nylocks.

Plus 1 on the toothpicks. With wood glue, I think. Seven years and 40k miles later, still holding.

I drilled a set of tiny holes in the lens and base and safety wired it with some thin copper wire. I really hate buying the replacement for $50+!
Now I sleep soundly at nite...

I put a Ulysses LED circuit board inside mine, with two smaller LED flasher boards hooked to the brake light (as a wig-wag flasher when I brake). Now that I've done that, I'll never have to take it off again...since I'll never have to replace a bulb again!

Bulb replacement is the only thing that really scared me on the S2. Move those screws...and they're never right again because there's so little for them to bite into. The throughbolt made me feel better...but knowing that its maintenance-free now? Verry happy : )
