Get someone who can get close...and paint the whole damn thing, not just a damaged section.

I have a BSP tank cover (not pretty, but it has the color). I'll take it to a painter buddy of mine, see what he can come up with.

Thanks for your help. I will also try RS Paint. They did a great job matching the three coat paint on my M2.

The Black Sapphire Pearl was a black base coat with House of Kolor PP05 or P05 Prism Pearl Blue over the black. It is as rare as rocking horse poop. The Prism Pearl Blue was discontinued by HoK.

It looks as if HoK does a prism pearl blue paste that you add to paint:

http://www.smartshoppersinc.com/HouseOfKolor/pearl _paste.html

If this is not the right info, the tech guys on TCPGlobal.com, an auto paint site, may be able to help, as they do a lot of HoK, and can match a lot of Kolors.

No idea if this helps, but maybe worth a try. I love what I've seen of Black Sapphire Pearl.

Thanks everybody. I shared this information with RS paint in the UK and they confirmed the Prism Pearl Blue is discontinued but can recreate it. I am going to send them a paint chip. I will let you know how well they match it.

Dan-

Please let us know what you find. I've got a Black Sapphire 96 S2. I think it's the finest color they put on any Buell, personally.

I sent the front fairing to RS Paint in the UK. It will take a couple of weeks or more but should have an answer if they can match it.

RS Paint indicated the paint is a Chromaflash, which is a flip paint where the color changes when you look at it from one direction to another. It is a highly specialized and costly paint. They are going to duplicate it. For enough paint to repaint entire bike 500ml $282 and 750ml $425. Add 475.50 from Base Coat. $28.50 for Gloss Lacquer. Shipping $75. Once I get the paint, I will share how it goes.

That's about right . . the S2 was painted on a special jig to orient all the pieces the same as they would be on the bike so that the rose, gold and blued played together nicely.

I wonder if the Ice White Pearl has the same angle orientation issues. The PO of my S1W had the tank repainted - a nice job, but it only matches the other body parts when seen at certain angles. Could this be why?

Thanks Court that will help a lot when I get the painting done. I am pursuing a couple of leads on people who did the painting at Buell.

No problem.

At least one of the Buell painters is still doing some painting and does superior work.

If you need to get in touch with him . . send me an e-mail this weekend.

the white ice probally is not an orentation issue most likley it has to do with the amount of pearl used or the other parts have faded slightly . these are just guesses difficult to say with out visualy examining the parts
