Well I was one of those "Damn Motorcycles" this morning. Nobody on the road, going faster than i should have, long downhill sweeping, partly blind corner (on the inside), and, whats THAT? a mini van pulled out onto the road in the only blind spot (there was no way they could have seen me). Oh will you look at that....Im going to fast to stop in time without lowsiding, Ill have to swing around them.... OH LOOK AT THAT........another car coming the other way!!!!!!! But wait...........if i SPEED UP i can Lane split with an oncoming car at about 50mph....ZOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMM.......made it. the ONLY saving grace is that it was a wide yellow line where a turn lane just ended. out of embarrassment (im glad theres an ASS in that word) i kept the throttle pegged so i wouldnt have to hear their curses and see the fingers pointed up in the air for me. (even tho i deserved it). Yep, ALL my fault. the van and white car were just rolling along minding their own bidness till this loud thundering "Damn" motorcycle tried to mess up their serene morning commute. I take full responsibility for my misdeeds. Speed kills, but its really FUN! |

Good god man! Did you need a change of shorts? Regardless of being one of "those damn motor cyles", glad to hear your head was screwed on tight enough to avoid disaster. Everything "fun" is hazardous in some way or another. |

Glad you kept your cool... ride it through and tough it out sometimes is the only option over a low/high side... just keeping the cool and your experiences saved the day... glad you and others are safe. |

At that point, you let your tires do your bidding. Glad to hear you are OK. |

thanks guys. good point Two_seasons, iv only been riding five years now and dont have the confidence/experiance in trusting my tires. will have to work on that. Some track time would be MOST excellent! will have to get down to the "world" to do that. Yea it was fun in a way. to get out of a tough scrape with only embarrassment is a good experience. THE ADRENALINE shot was pretty damn cool. |

First (or second) rule of motorcycling: You should always go just fast enough to be able to come to a full stop within your distance of sight. Or something like that... |
