On top of that, the oil was looking VERY metallic as it was draining. I guess I'm about to get a crash course in H-D transmissions... |

There always seems to be some metalic bits on the plug. How much is "normal" vs. how much is "bad". |

Tensioner is what it looks like. Pull the cover. Put in new tensioner. Fill/drain every 200 miles 5x and see what happens. These transmissions are tougher than you think. |

Think positive. Your bike is losing weight... That's a good thing... |

Disclaimer: I just bought this bike, and I've only ridden it around my neighborhood a few times to get a feel for it. My other concern is the way it was acting. Sometimes starting out in first from a stop, it would clunk/bang with the clutch halfway engaged, almost like it was in gear but not the whole way. It did it once in second, too... as I was giving it some throttle through a corner it was almost like it drifted into neutral and slammed back into gear. I've never had a Buell or HD before, so pretty much everything about this bike is new to me. The primary cover is on its way off. |

Yeah, there is sometimes the second "clunk" in first when the clutch and primary are out of adjustment. |

Shop manual is on the way, hopefully I will have it tomorrow. And I stopped riding it when I noticed the clunk/bang. It's in full-on tear down, clean, fix, adjust, and maintain mode right now. |
