Hello,
I have had my 2000 x1 for about a year now. It was down for the winter, as the person who rebuilt the engine on it used a GL-5 oil in the primary and killed the stator(IMHO). After changing out the stator, upgrading the shifter, replacing the rear isolators(front next winter!), and taking off the air scoops, I have purchased a catchcan.

I decided to route the breathers down near the battery to T up with the primary breather. I then routed the tube to the right side where I have the catchcan mounted. Does anyone see any problems with this? Just wanted to get some opinions before I mess things up.

The fluid will puddle up in the low section of the line.

Keep your catch can down hill from the breathers.

I wouldn't T the engine breathers to the gearbox breather ....... you don't want any problem with one area to be causing a problem with the other and you also risk engine fumes contaminating the gearbox oil.

I used a clear fuel filter with the element removed.. just plugged the outlet with a pipe plug.

The catch-can has to be vented to the outside air, by plugging it you defeat the purpose of the breather system.

Thanks for the feedback guys.
Kevmean, I went with your suggestion of not contaminating the two oils.
Nwrider, I basically rerouted the lines the same way you did, but a little different. I'll post a closeup pic tomorrow.

I also switched to sny3 hd oil last week. I think it will be worth the extra 20bucks an oil change from what I've read on the forums here.

Thanks from Humboldt County, CA
Mike
