I love this bike! Love it soooooooo much more now that it has been converted to a carb vs. fuel injection. Funny thing is I did not buy the Cyclone new because it was not DDFI then 9 years later I convert to Carb on the X1W... http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/47623/634974.html?1306668927 (Message edited by weatherbyman on June 18, 2011) |

What kind of power sanders post up a dyno picture. I have my X1 built and custom mapped and dyno tuned. I am making more power also. I am getting 117 rwhp in 4th gear. I will post the dyno pic tonight when i get home. |

I'm not making anything close to 117. At a recent dyno shootout I made 86 horsepower on a stock motor. |

I should have added that before the conversion I was making 71rwhp. I'll admit my DDFI might not have been spot on. |

I am making 108rwHP and 92 ft-lbs at the rear easy without final tuning http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/476 23/634974.html?1306668927http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/476 23/634974.html?1306668927 |

I like that speedo. Probably would have gone that route if I had known about them. I ended up using the Autometer Pro cycle gauges. Next time though... |

ok here is my dyno pic just before the final tune was done. this is only 4th gear as the clutch was letting go at WOT in 5th gear and the final tune got me to 117rwhp Rpm's raised to a max of 6900 any more and you risk grenading the crank.
this only a 1250 cc kit. Terry and firemanjim at JTSperformance rock!! |

Thx Guell... yeah for "just" a 1250cc kit I love the fact I am laying down 92+ ft-lbs... the torque comes on strong and stays with the bike and no dump/dip like I had with the DDFI... I love the old school carb technology vs. the DDFI |

Well both you guys have great looking bikes. I always wondered what kind of hp you could get from the 1250. Its something im saving $$ for. |

Thanks Jacob... the 1250cc is the way to go to maintain good street-ability while having a nice boost to rwHP and torque.. you can go a little up on cams and headwork to even better the standard 1250cc kit for a little extra... prior to the 1250 kit my rwHP was -19 rwHP, so I picked up a nice boost.. the torque improved as did the nice fat and flat dyno curves once I eliminated the DDFI and went to the Mitkuni Carb Conversion |

"..before the conversion I was making 71rwhp..." From what I've seen/read here a properly dyno tuned (stock) X1 with slip-on exhaust and high-flow intake makes 82-86 rwHP and 74-78 lb-ft of rwTQ (Message edited by kalali on June 20, 2011) |

Preybird, I have the same air horn but mine is tucked under my flyscreen and forward of the tach and speedo... it is very, very loud there and just as commanding.... nice tuck-away option.. "justsayin"... of course my EBOC is where you have your horn currently. Yeah, gotta love the X1's! -- just classy! |
