So I just got back from 9 days out on the road on my S1. 2374 miles.

Orlando to Murphy, North Carolina. Then I did 752 miles in that area without leaving the county lines (for all intensive purposes). The dragon was amazing. Got some great footage on my go pro, including a guy that fell and his bike rocketing towards me on the outside of the hairpin.

Then rode down to tallahassee for th enight, and over to Panama City Beach in the morning, to catch the first stop of the National IJSBA tour (I race stand up jet ski's) And then back to orlando.

That being said, I blew off the pad material on one of my rear brake pads, and fried my clutches (while in cherohala forest) and today I noticed that I have blued my rotor from heat, and completely shook my ass clear off. Love it.

The trip also helped me realized what changes i needed to my bike. I immediately got rid of my dirt bike Hi bars, and put on a set of dirt bike Low bars, and then dropped the forks about 11mm in the tripples. What a huge difference. Wish i would have had that available in the Dragon.

Also cant wait to have my new front end and ztl2 on, and fit my new swing arm... raise the rear up a half inch or so.

That is pretty good seat time on an S1, I have only managed about 500 over a weekend, with the pro series seat which did make a difference.

Hey Foximus,
that are some nice miles you did there!
it's always a good adventure going on a trip with a buell.

also it's looking good with the saddle bags!

Good stuff! Nice to see our ol' S1's out there racking up miles, and that's an impressive run on the "one cheek seat"!

I've been spending more miles on my S1W now, too...now that I have decent tires on it. Gotta say, I loveloveLOVE the new PR3 : )

AND....

I did all that with ISO stiffeners (ah what a mistake....)

For a while I was feeling some symptoms of carpal tunnel....

My jury rigged front exhaust mount waited till i got back to crack in half too!

And yea, I was rather surprised on how not horrible the saddle bags looked. I usually cannot stand them. The only downside is on the pictures it made me look like i was sitting centered on the seat instead of hanging off a bit. Unfortunately in that turn there was a slow bike in front of me so i could not really nail it hard.

My hat's off to you. That's a lot of miles on any bike not less an S1.
When did you do the headlights? Don't recall seeing a picture posted here. Nice.

I did the headlights just before I left. Kind of temporary bracket out of aluminum till i really figure out what I want. An oil cooler will be sitting next to them.

sounds like a great trip. Did you go it alone or have company? We really need to hook up and go out. Would love to make a trip to Buelltoberfest etc....

Thanks. I got them off craigslist. $35. Couldnt tell you much more about them, other than the fact that I thought I would hate them and actually really liked them.

Well done Fox. There aren't many who can do that sorts of mileage on a S1.

My cut down stock seat has done some four hundred mile days, eight hundred mile weekends, but just under 2400 miles, all I can say is wow!!
