I went to buy some parts for the S1 from a Harley dealership today. Not only did they not have any Buell parts, they didn't even have the parts books. The only reason they had the bolts I needed was that they're the same ones as the 98 Sportster. The parts guy commented that the Rotax guys were going to have a tough time of it since they don't share many (any?) parts with Harley bikes. My tuber used to be the bike I worried about finding parts for, but now I worry more about the Ulysses, and I'm glad I don't have an 1125.

I'd bet both my nads that a Tuber will be the last Buell ever running.

...the last of the pre-October 2009 Buells, that is.
Looks like EB is on his way with his new racing bikes, and who knows what else.

Spiderman, Norton parts are not that hard to find, In fact you could build a complete bike from the parts that are now out there, I just finished my second Norton rebuild about 6 months ago. It's the price that kills ya, Bare Norton head, $2000.00 Now the Vincent stuff is tough that's for sure. Jramsey I know mine will be around for some time, Gotta love the feel of a Buell. Tuber that is.

That was kind of the point...

With passionate owners and boards like this, we will never have a hard time...

I'm not sure how good it's looking. I had to order a fork damper assembly for my 2002 X1W. No dealership in Canada could get it (discontinued with no substitute part number) and the dealerships I checked in the States couldn't get it either. One of the sponsors here got me one but had to order it through vintageparts.com (2002, vintage???).
Same with my race ECM, I checked with American Sport Bike, no dealer could get it, I had to contact Erik Buell Racing and he only had a few DDFI-1 ECMs left.

You will never see tubers at the junk yard for the same reason you never see HD's at the scrap heap. Only bike's not worth fixing are found shnit piled.

X1rider, you (and all of us) may need to start looking to the aftermarket, where WP and Showa are household names, and not necessarily associated with Buell or HD.

I've got a 60's BSA head sitting out in the garage looking for a home... complete with carb still attached (in rough shape).

I've got an old Honda single cylinder engine sitting in my garage waiting for a home too. Either that or I treat it like a puzzle and take it apart then try and put it back together again. Tubers haven't been made for 8 years now, but I think I would rather have a tuber than an 1125R since the tuber engine is related to the sporster and a lot of HD parts can be used. The 1125R and CR's only had a couple of years of life. I'm thinking there are not that many techs out there that really know how to work on them

With the internet and today's shipping methods it's easier to get Meriden Triumph and Norton parts than it was when they were in business.Demand will dictate supply, you can build a Vincent now from the replacement parts available.

I haven't had any issues getting parts for either of my 1125's, except for the stator, but they were backordered due to everyone else needing one at the same time. In hindsight I should of just gotten a aftermarket one.

I really haven't needed any parts for them yet, so time will tell if it is an issue getting them or not, but so far I say its not.

I think the Blast will be the last Buell left rolling simply because there is more Blasts produced then tubes or XBs

I might Snag a Blast this Winter. I see 'em for $1500 around here in Jan - Mar...I wonder how they would do in Ice / Speedway racing?

MA59: Do it! Spring for a Blast. I started on a Blast. Got an X1, kept the Blast. I love to ride both bikes. Parts are plentiful for either at the moment. Insurance is cheap and I am not sure which one I enjoy more! The Blast really reminds me of the Weslake speedway bikes I used to see at Reading Racers back in the UK. The only difference would be that it actually has gears and brakes! I wouldn't "dirt track" mine but I am sure the Blast would be good for that kind of activity.
