Bought this 1998 S-1W which was painted and has some custom Buell logo on tail section. "Harley Davidson" on the tank. I'm not too keen on the larger tank and would like to swap for the smaller S-1 tank and like-colored bodywork. Sorry doesn't include my carbon windscreen. Also, wouldn't mind swapping out my carbon aircleaner setup for something different that IS NOT the stock breadbox! LOL. Kurakyn? Hopefully someone closer so we don't have to worry about shipping. The irony of that bike? Someone spent good money to put T-storm heads and pistons on a '97 and then put Bubs big dog pipes on it (Aka power killers). Good looking bike though. I'm with you- I like the small tank. |

Must've been a real Harley guy. Most of them like their bikes loud and running like sh*t. |

Um....I hope you're not riding it without the clutch cover... Although without a battery...probably not lol. Also - if it's a '97, it's not an S1W. If it's an S1W, it's a 98 (one year only model). The VIN will give it away. The air cleaner is odd. It's an S2 aircleaner (note the centered bolts and green CF weave)...with an S2 dash badge on it. Strange assortment of stuff on it, would love to hear the history. FWIW, the "right" race aircleaner will sit about 2" forward on the bike (notice the vertical frame tube behind the filter on mine, how its exposed..but covered by the aircleaner on yours) - it mounts with offset screws and gets it out of the way of your knee. Most popular alternative seems to be the Force cone-filter intake.

Yeah sorry meant 1998 White Lightning. I may even be willing to trade the Bub pipes for some stock header setup with Vance and Hines slipon. Here is from a ride this afternoon. Note the titainum header wrap for the rightside pipe and heat shield. Does great, don't even notice heat on a sunny/hot day. Just need to do something about that darn seat. If I can't a person to swap bodywork I may have to repaint back to all white. Not a big fan of the white frame/wheels with this color paint. (Message edited by michelangelo on July 09, 2010) (Message edited by michelangelo on July 09, 2010) |
