I've seen these air cleaners on ebay and was just wondering if anyone knew anything about them? I haven't seen them mentioned before but I keep running across them.

I have one on my '99 X1 with the thinner filter. It works well, is a complete "bolt on" and offers good performance.
I need to work on a breather "catch can" setup for it but I will not be addressing this for some time as I am not experiencing problems with too much "spooge" entering the intake.

Shape is the same as the race filter set up, probably uses the same [K&N] filter (which breathes very well). Good price compared to the Buell race kit offered elsewhere.

If you like to ride in all weather you will find the filter washes out in the rain and will become water logged quickly, which is why the force winder comes with a rain sock.

Comfort - I found I banged my knee on the race filter a lot as it protrudes to the rear and it's square shape is more intrusive than the angled shape of the stock airbox.

I believe this unit is smaller than the race filter setup.I am 6'1" and my knee has yet to make contact with the filter (I have an X1.) I have ridden in rain and the filter has yet to "wash out" on me. The guy who sells them offers two sizes of filter. i cannot remember the exact dimensions but I purchased the smaller of the two. Looks wise, it's a lot nicer than stock. It also eliminates a fair amount of weight from the bike.

Sounds like this might be better than the race trinket then. I'm 5'10" and the race cleaner was pretty much right in the way for me.

There was only 58 min on it when I looked earlier. Didja buy it?

I didn't buy one yet. It could be the same one being re-listed, but they have a new one every few days after the first one is sold. I know it's their product, but I'm not a fan of the "name tag" on the cover. If it's just a sticker I could peel it off.

I paid $180.00 for mine. The "name tag" is just a sticker. I just tried to find the corner w/my fingernail and I reckon it would come off real easily.
