I just took my saddlebags off my S3T and noticed one of the catches on the back side was missing... bolt must have just vibrated right off along with the catch itself.

And most of the remaining bolts were loose. I guess a little Locktite might be in order?

(I thought when people said bolts rattled off of the tubers, they were joking)

I check mine every time I take the bags off.

They are a problem sooner or later!I use 1/4" u bolts, wide washers, rubber tube pieces for shock in the Three places and nylon zip ties, fastened to bag frame..

Ebutch - I take it your setup is not as "quick release" as it used to be? Care to share any pictures of how you have them attached?

Cool - I think I have a good idea of how you have it, just curious. My bags won't be coming off often, so I'd rather have some thing a little more secure. Going to be laying some fiberglass this winter as well.

On inside U bolts used inner-tube on contact points of saddlebag brackets, for shock. And blue lock-title on threads.U bolts came with small flat brackets to make strong attachment.

The rope gets soaked in resin and help strengthen and stiffen the bag inner.

Thanks Ebutch - pretty straight forward. I may go that route if my stock keepers don't do the trick.
