That's cuz it is! Lol. Wish I had the lower tree to match. The top tree is NOS Buell, a factory piece for the first 50 or so S2s. I bought it on eBay 6 months ago for $37. Sorry Will, I worked on the bike today but didn't have a drill with me to pop the rivets and send you the cover. I should get it out to ya probably next week. I put the drive brace and the Banke lever on today (replaced the HEAVY Sportster lever but still utilizing the rest of the boomerang) and got the rear XB wheel mounted. Hopefully next week I'll get the rear brake functional and start finishing the front conversion lol.

for the first 50 or so S2s

I may be wrong but I think the first couple of hundred had the billet triple trees.

It could be. I was just guessing by looking at some of the low production number S2s on here.

Ross, I would have thought that as well.

Number 35 certainly has the billet but number 304 does as well. I would hazard a guess that most of the 95 S2s with the 1B9 VIN will have the billet triple tree. Neat discussion because there is a significance to the 1B9 and 4MZRT VIN numbers. I think, and I have not looked at it in a while, it is mentioned in the "25 Years of Buell".

I know Buell wanted to make and sell around 300 S2s. Of course they made many more than 300. I am unsure of how close to the 300 mark Buell intended to make. I am also not sure of what sequence in the numbers the 1B9 VIN was dropped and the 4MZRT used.

It is possible to have number 25 with the 1B9 VIN

Another number 25 with the 4MZRT VIN

And yet another 25 with a CA VIN.

This is why the S2 Owners list and S2 Owners are frustrating at times.

Ross, I sent you an email. Drop me a line when all the S2 "stuff" gets there.
