Whats the best type pad organic or kevlar? Need to rebuilt my front caliper while I was at it I might replace the pads also. Noticed the price of EBC were half the price of Buell pads.

Get lindel gold pads from AL @ American Sport Bike! http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/5430P.html I used the high performance organic EBC and they were the biggest waste of money! They fade under hard breaking and smoke like a som bich. I have hated these pads since the moment i tried em out.

I guess opinions vary -- I really like EBC's for all out braking performance. But their initial bite is very strong so unless you are well disciplined at not grabbing the brake lever then they are my preferred brand.

Lynd's are okay - good for street use as they don't have strong initial bight, but they lack a progressive braking feel. I would describe them as "wooden" when used for aggresive braking. I did not like them for track days. Street use they are good, but not for performance use. The gold pads also give noticable wear on my rotor as well.

My rec's are for track day use: DP or EBC
For street: Lynd's organics or OEM.

EBC looks to be the best bet. I was just checking to find out what works best for others. Are the OEM pads kelvar or organic.

ebc on the track. lyndall gold on the street. lyndalls will clean up the rotor & make it all smooth and happy. but at race pace will fade eventually. love how the lyndalls feel through the lever, not alot of initial bite but give it as much as you want & it will be a predictable progression

Med:
Are you asking if it's organic, semi-metallic or ceramic / sintered? Kevlar fibers can be used in both organic or semi-metallic pads.

Each have advantages and disadvantages depending upon application. OEM pads are likely semi-metallic, but that's just an educated guess. EBC offers semi (edit: should say ORGANIC!) and sintered, DP the same and LBS offers organic and semi-metallic. I don't have a parts book handy so they may offer different ones that I am not aware of.

EBC offered two type pads for the S2. A organic and a kevlar pad. I may go with the kevlar based on what I have heard. Thanks

EBC's Kevlar pads are organic.

Sounds like a good choice...
