Hey fellas, have little more than a month till I get home. I know the rear tire size for a M-2 is 170/60ZR 17. However, it appears they have stopped making M-1 Sportecs in that size. I check 3 different sites, and they start at 180/55ZR 17. I am by no means a tire size expert, so maybe someone could help me out. What tire sizes could I mount on the Rear of the Cyclone? I have a pretty much 90% front tire, thats why I am trying to stick with the M-1. thanks, Brian |

180/55 will fit fine and will get the speedo closer to correct. Welcome home and thank you for your service. |

The 180 will give the tire a slightly different profile as well, and I have the perfect place for you to scrub them in!!! |

My Cyclone came with a 180 on it. I've kept that size when doing the rear replacements, but was talking to a guy about the profile of a 180 versus the stock 170. He was saying that the 180 would be pinched in more on a 5" rim and that rolling side to side in the twisties would be harder than the 170. Basically a flatter profile. I'm not a racer type so I don;'t think I would notice the difference. I did buy one of the new Roadsmart rears from Dunlop as a replacement (not mounted yet) in a 170 as a trial. Those Pilot Roads 1 or 2s look like a possibility in the future. Safe ride, Gary in Oaktown |
