Hitch hiked 500 miles yesterday from SW Wi to NE Sd. My bike was at my dads for the last couple of weeks and I needed it. Jumped on her an hour ago and made it 5 miles. Heard a fluff fluff and maybe some bang bang in the exhaust that quickly got worse (doesn’t want to run and i'm not going to try). I was headed back to Wi to chase tail but now need to be together possibly for Sturgis on Wednesday. I think I dropped a valve or something else in the valve train. I have a buddy in town who used to be a tech and has rebuilt his x1 several times, so I got the help just need the parts. In need of a rear head (I think) for a 96 S1 or 2 thunderbolt heads maybe a piston or 2 , a new oil pump and what else? (FMJ ya know I do have a spare engine but no that baby isn’t coming out) so whacha got for parts and what else should I replace? (the answer to this is what ever is worn No point in going big because my 88 project just got back seated about 55 minutes age. |

I have a set of thunderstorm heads and 11:1 high comp pistons to go with. Ping me if you're interested and we can work out a price. I also have the cylinders if needed. |

Good deal, a few hours and you should be on your way. I hope that's all you need but if you need more let me know. Good luck! |

Why would a blown head gasket cause all that noise you were talking about? A newbie question so be nice... |
