Have a stock 2001 Cyclone w/ CV carb. Just put a Forcewinder/K&N on it and going to re-jet. I live at 5000' and ride mostly above 2000'. Stock pipe. With Forcewinder it seems to run great except for noticeable hesitation/dip in accel around 3800-4200 RPM. Are the factory jets 45 pilot and 190 main? Should I... 1. Leave as-is? 2. Re-jet to ? Advice? |

Main varies. Stock should be 42 pilot. Try 45 pilot and see how it goes. |

Approx 4500 ft here in the Salt Lake valley, I ride up to Brighton regularly (Yahoo travel says the base is 8,800 feet), that ride was where I really noticed my jetting short falls with only my intake opened up. I'll have to double check but I'm pretty sure I'm running a 195 or 200 main and a 45 slow jet and the bike runs fine. |

Oh, I thought the factory main was 180 or so, CA models may vary in their stock jetting. |

Dunno if they changed much from 2001 to 2002 but my 2002 Cyclone (California model) has a stock 195 main and 42 slow. Bought my 45 slow jet and gonna put it on when my new rocker gaskets show up. |

Trying to understand the physics here. Any advice appreciated. Higher altitude operation would mean less O2 density right? (cause bike to run too rich? - more fuel, less air. Forcewinder airbox mod allows more O2, right? Which delivers more O2 to the carb. Sounds like they should almost cancel and I should leave alone.-??? Gonna go visit Wright Bros Custom in Yucaipa (40 min away) and they said they could suggest some carb mods and correct jets. |

https://www.johnsmotorcycleparts.com/Keihin_CV_tun ing_tips.htm From people I have talked to and stuff I have read this is the best way to check your circuits if you are running lean or rich. Recommend using cheap plugs as you will need minimum 3 sets. |

My 2002 M2 came stock with a 42 slow jet and a 195 main. I installed a Forcewinder intake and have a stock exhaust. I changed the slow jet to a 45 and left the stock 195 main. Also, set mixture screw 2.5 turns out and shilled the needle 1/16". The outcome is great. It starts easily, runs cooler, and is stronger in midrange. Good luck, Dave (Message edited by Dave_02_1200 on July 12, 2009) |

I put the forcewinder intake on my m2, the mounting bolts/oil lines kept backing out so I put loctite on them. Now I would like to get them out to rejet, any advice those bolts are very soft?? |
