I've had the S3T a week now and its really growing on me.

The effort required to upshift was as much as I would guess to lift a manhole cover with the toe of your boot.

My X1 has the old style boomerang shift lever and shifts faultless as in "Suzuki Slick."

Anyway the S3T has the newer style shifter and I noticed the arm on the shift shaft was "clocked" about 5:30 so when you upshift the shift lever itself loses all leverage because the shift arm is already pointed almost straight down.

Anyhoo I "reclocked" the shift arm to 3:30 and made longer linkage (the stock linkage wouldn't begin to adjust far enough) and now the shift effort is easier than the boomerang shifter.

Just thought I'd pass this along.

J,
If you ever pull the primary cover be sure to make a line with a sharpie through the shifter and shaft so you know where to line it back up.

I managed to "reclock" mine once and lost all leverage like you describe.

The shorter shift linkage has better fell imho

If you can afford it, the Banke shifter is a joy to use. I use Amsoil 20-50 oil in my tranny which dramatically improved shifting.
