Have a 2002 M2 want to remove header to wrap, cut cam cover down, possible oil pump up grade. Heard horror stories on broke studs etc. What kind of prep and precautions should be taken for head ache free header removal.

I don't think you'll have a problem if you soak the nuts overnight in PB Blaster or equivalent.
