OK i hope somebody has an answer for me. THe mounting brackets have busted off the muffler 2 times now. I have a 96 s1 with a kooks header and the D&D muffler. I thought about taking a piece of metal wrapping it all the way around the muffler and attatching were the original bracket attaches. Anybody have any ideas? |

Brian, the ones on the muffler itself or the one on the elbow? Do you have the newer Y hanger on the front mount? How old is the muffler? I've heard of this happening before, D&D might replace or repair. |

Brian, How does the bike run with that set-up (when it's not trying to break apart)? |

I was just chatting with a parts guy at my local dealer last weekend and he mentioned somebody that he knew had that exact same problem and D&D replaced it twice and said no more if it happens again. So give em a call, worst they could say is no. I'm not familiar with the kooks header, does it have a beveled end at the head or is it flat like the D&D header. In other words is it similar to the original header at the head? Oh and the "Y" hanger is what should be used up front where the elbow is. At the bottom of this thread is a blurry picture of mine, jost behind the electrical tape on the clutch cable is the Y hanger. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/47623/318487.html?1194417243 (Message edited by blackm2 on February 05, 2008) (Message edited by blackm2 on February 05, 2008) |
