Big fan,

What- you didn't ride to the top of Pilot Mountain????

Yes, I have been by there more than once. (The thought never crossed my mind, either.)

BTW- I might start working in W/S, I might have to catch up with ya to find the best of the local watering holes...

First let me say THANK YOOOUUUU to whoever started this site.I luckily tripped over it looking for accessories for my X1. I have found more information on my bike in the past week than I have found since I got it in DEC. If anyone of you X1ers out there are looking for a trunk compartment after you remove your fender I am in the process of making a mold for 1. I will post a pic when it's complete.

A: Not too sure. Looks like it's supposed to grind up whatever is dumped in the top. The big clue is that one side turns in the opposite direction. Possibly for turning grain into flour.

B: Easy, it's for wheelies and extreme corners.

C: Breaks big rocks into smaller rocks.

D: Splits wood.

So uh, what do I win?

:)

I'm not to sure but I think the motorcycle, is it a Buell Lightning perhaps, is the odd one out.

All the other's have some kind of entertainment attached to them. Grinding rocks and chopping wood is superb fun, right. Having to ride the motorcycle is a chore no one want's. How unsafe is that. No fun at all !

What do I win ?

A: I believe is a grist/hammer mill. Powered by a water cooled single cylinder John Deer hit or miss engine. The mill is of a later variety, as mentioned it has counter rotating shafts. Earlier models had a fixed and rotating grinding plate, later models had counter rotating plates. They ground stuff faster and finer. I'm not sure if it's for grain or what. It has a "input" grinder device in the hopper, note the pulley and shafts on the left side. I don't remember seeing this on a grain type mill.

Neat stuff in the background. Cool old cars (Model "A"'s I think), check out the minature tractor in the upper right.

B: This item speaks for itself. This is a grin producing machine.

C: Rock crusher. Again powered by a water cooled single cylinder hit or miss engine. I've seen one of these in action. Noisy little buggers, lots of dust. The one I saw was much bigger. This would be the "farmer" sized unit.

D: Log splitter from hell. There is no "trigger for this type. The wedge just goes up and down. You have to time the insertion of the log when the wedge is at the top. I have seen another type splitter that was even more hazardous. It had a large sharp wedge on the edge of a 6-8' diameter steel wheel. To split wood, you would place the log on a platform in line with the wheel and let go just as the wedge came around. The wheel turned about 20 RPM, if the wedge jammed, you released a belt tensioner to back up the wedge by hand then try again. This unit looks like it would work better than the wheel type. Alot safer too!

It's no wonder farming had so many injurys/deaths/fingers and limbs missing. If you didn't pay attention 100% of the time you loose!

Neat pics! Thanks
