New Uly surges on level and downhills with neutral throttle. Fine under accelleration. Went to mountains with high altitude and it ran perfectly. After three days in the mountains came home and check engine light came on permanently. Dealer called Buell and eventually came up with a bad valve that opens and closes changing the exhaust flow that changes torque and power. Thats why the light's on. Not sure if it will affect the surging issues. Seems like it would. I would probably attack the 02 sensor for the surge. |

Actually, the interactive exhaust only kicks in at pretty aggressive throttle. If the servo is stuck open, then you'd have no back pressure, and pretty poor runnability at the low end of the powerband. |

If the servo gets stuck I think the ECM will throw a code 21 and it will cause some engine hesitation and the engine light will come on. I freed mine up and bought a replacement. The first bunch of 06 Uly's had problems with the servo. I was #22. |

Had the interactive exhaust module changed and check engine light is out. But the surging is still present. Mostly 45 mph and under any rpm, neutral throttle. et: 2nd gear 20mph, 3rd gear 30 to 40 mph. Anything 3000rpm and down any gear neutral throttle. Makes running gravel roads a difficult chore at 30 or 40 mph. Jerks around like loose primary chain (its good). Dealer gets it tomorrow. |
