So the bike kicks ass... I just got it on Thursday (8/3). So far I put 300 miles on it and it's been good...except... for the damn engine light.
it only comes on when I restart the bike, when it is hot. If I shut it down and restart, it sometimes will go off and stay off, other times it comes back on.
I start the bike this way, everytime:
1. Turn the ignition on and wait for cycle
2. Turn on kill switch, wait for enginer light to go out.
3. Start bike.
When I shut it down, I always use the kill switch.
I will call the dealer tomorrow (closed on Monday's) and see what they recommend. But I thought I'd post here first and see if anyone else had a clue. I think it might just need a TPS reset. I don't know. I was 50 miles away from home and had to drive it with the light on. No pinging, wasn't running rich... it ran fine, just the light was one.

The dealer will be able to recover a code that will indicate why the light is coming on. It may be something minor, but it is a good idea to have it diagnosed. Let us know what you find. |

There were a few of the new Uly's that had the engine light come on. I forget whether it was the problem; either the exhaust valve or a diode that needed to be flipped around.
Don't know that this would be the problem, but it's at least a place for the dealership to start. My guess is they could contact the Mother Ship with the VIN and find out if yours is one of the affected bikes.
Let's know.

Wasn't there something about the interactive exhaust servo-actuator that was causing the trouble? |

*** UPDATE ***
On Friday I went to the dealer to have them pull the codes real quick. The Uly had two codes stored in it's system. One was the Interactive exhaust valve stuck open, the second was the interactive exhaust valve stuck closed. They cleared the lights, took it for a test spin, it came back on. They cleared it and it hasn't come back on since. They are calling tech to see if they should replace it (which I said yes).
I'll get it replaced at my 1000 mile service (which will be soon). In having the bike for a week and four days, I have 500 miles on it, and out of those 11 days, I was out of town for 5 of them on business.
Man this bike rocks.

Good call... I think it's a no brainer that something is amiss with the valve. (Actuator, adjustment, cable, or valve) To just reset the codes and give it back would be silliness.
