Check out these guys: www.onlinemetals.com/index.cfm?affiliate_id=303 I haven't actually purchased anything from them but they seem to have a good selection. They've even got some titanium but it's prohibitively expensive for mere bike parts. And I understand one of the problems with titanium tube bike frames has been cracking at the weld joints. I assumed y'all were into fabricating custom Buells out of weird and exotic metals because I am although I do realize that might not be the case. B/D: I've used onlinemetals.com and been very happy. They ship quick and the product was clean and well cut. The only problem is shipping cost, if you're buying something heavy. I bought 360 brass from them because I can't find it at the scrap yard. You have a piece of it in the entropy lab, I believe... rt | ||

$4/lb is MORE THAN RETAIL UPS'ED TO MY DOOR!!! holy crap you're being screwed. Bomber.... try a local reliance steel and aluminum distributor. or for small lots I mail order from enco or msc. usually 6' lengths reliance location in rockford: http://www.liebovichsteel.com/ here's a comparative price sample on 91 lbs of 6061 2" square 1/8" wall tube. 80 linear feet. I picked this up yesterday. use-enco.com $360 + usually free shipping 3 day f.s.i $360 drive 1 hour to pickup reliance steel+aluminum $230 local pickup anyway, 4/lb for scrap is more than I'd pay for new material ups'ed to my door. online metals, etc... only if you want less than 6' length and are willing to pay premium. (you'll pay double the per 6' msc price) only go this route when you hafe absolutely no use for the left overs. I think the last scrap I bought was $1.50/lb ? last year. Bomber, I know some excellent(not so!) wire stretchers. One could banjo a wire and be able to play tunes on it. What sucks most? Finding it after someone has term'd both ends. | ||
