i know this has possibly been covered elsewhere BUT, Will o6 xb9 jugs n pistons fit my 03? Also if i remember reading correctly somewhere on the board, i'm limited in the year range crankshaft i can fit directly? I have a mate in Kansas who will be packing a container bound for RSA at the end of the month so my bits could hitch a ride! | ||

Not only will they fit, they are same. When sourcing engine parts, stick with years 03-07. While it does share many parts with the 08-10 bikes, they have more substantial changes, many of which are not easy to retrofit (including the crank). | ||

Thanks Froggy! Yeah i was fairly sure the jugs n pistons were but just needed to confirm! Will the cranks across that time frame then be a direct bolt in? I was under the impression that changes had been made that made cranks only up to 05 compatible? Being stuck in South Africa means you don't get second chances with bikes as exotic as this as there's sod all real backup. let alone spares supply!! | ||

Yep the crank is the same for 03-07, the 08s are different. Just remember the XB9 and XB12 have different cranks, so unless you want to change the displacement get the right one!  | ||
