2007 XB9R Firebolt.
I recently replaced my rear brake pads and ended up have a problem. The pressure builds and the brake pedal becomes impossible to press, and the piston/cylinder on the caliper does not retract like it should. PLEASE READ what i have done to it before providing an answer because I am seriously stumped, been trying to fix it for the past 2 weeks.

First, no problem with the linkage. There are no leaks anywhere. I've rebuilt the master cylinder, cleaned the vent holes. Lines are clean, caliper is clean and greased and moves fine. The piston and seals are clean, no pits, no corrosion. I've bleed it with the caliper above the master, no air in the system and nothing but clean dot4 comes out.

I press on the brake pedal, end up getting about three pumps out of it before it becomes solid and no longer moves. When I open the bleeder, I get the pedal back and I can manually push the cylinder back in.

tho you said all is well in the mc, the symptoms mimic the common problem of a clogged passage that is not allowing brake fluid to return behind the piston after compression

I agree, and I think it is a small port that becomes exposed (in the master cylinder) when you let up on the master and it returns to a normal static position. It may be clogged or the master is not fully returning to a fully extended position. This is a bleed back port that becomes covered as you start to press on the brake lever/piston so it can apply full pressure on the caliper.
