Hey everyone. Well here's the story. The recall Showa shock on my Tuber bled all over the place, and turned into a pogo-stick. So I went out and bought a new (used) second recall Showa shock with bracket. Anyhow I switched out the shocks and the new bracket, torqued everything to spec from the book etc etc. Went way to smooth which scared me. So about 2-3 days later I notice a never before seen oil spot on my garage floor. No not that black nasty stuff from the shock, but nice clean Mobil 1...hmmm So I am sitting here wondering did I tweak a oil line? Did removing the cross bolts in the case to switch from the long to short bracket cause the lower housing gasket to fail? I am stumped to tell you the truth.

Ok so anyone out there ever had something similar happen?

Clean everything up well then go for a short ride.
Then take a peek and see if you can tell where the oil is coming from.
You might even want to spray on some cheap foot power, it will turn dark where the oil is leaking.

Before you do anything, check the oil lines going to the oil pump. You might have tweaked a fitting when you changed shock mounts.

The oil leak is coming from the Oil Feed line that runs from the oil pump into the case near the oil filter. It is leaking at the oil pump end where the threaded connector is swedged on. Ordered a new line, should be here in a week or so.
