I OWN A 99 M2 CYCLONE, AND IM HAVING SOME PROBLEMS. NOT REALLY A TOOLER BUT I HAVE BUDDYS THAT ARE! I NEED TO FIND WHUT IT IS MAKING MY BIKE DO WHAT IT IS!

I WILL BE STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT IN FIRST GEAR, WHEN I RELEASE THE CLUTCH OUT AND GIVE IT GAS THE BIKES SEEMS TO MAKE A WEIRD CRUNCH NOISE. IF I START THE BIKE IN 2ND IT DOESNT DO IT. AND ITS NOT AN ALL THE TIME THING, JUST PERIODACLLY. IVE CHECKED LEVELS OF FLUIDS, PRIMARY FLUID MAY NEED CHANGED BUT SHOULDNT BE CAUSING THAT PROBLEM. ALSO NUETREL IS HARD TO FIND.

IM NOT RIDING IT AS MUCH I USSAULLY DO, AND IT SCARES MY OL' LADY HAHA.




AND AFTER ALL THAT, MY SPEEDOMETER DONT WORK!!



ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED IM JUST HOPING ITS NOTHING TO EXSPENSIVE

Check the primary chain tension. If slack enough the chain can slap the inside top of the primary cover.

If that isn't it open the primary cover to make sure the tensioner shoe is one piece and that the shifter pawl is in proper adjustment. If not any of these, you're on your own!

I'm with Rick chain tensioner shoe or shifter pawl. When the tensioner goes it is possible for plastics bits to get in the transmission. The speedometer is probably a failed sensor, but before you replace it pull it and clean any metal shavings off the sensor. What doesn't work, the needle does sweep, tripometer and odometer doesn't update but lights and illumination does? If you don't have a service manual I recommend you get one.
